Level 1 Field Trips are meant to follow an Avalanche Awareness class. This means that Avalanche Awareness can be upgraded to a Level 1 Certification by taking an extra (second) field trip, which is called the Level 1 Field Trip. This extra trip is optional.

If you have taken Avalanche Awareness in past seasons, you can possibly take a Level 1 Field Trip to complete certification. You would need to talk to us to decide if your previous training is adequate or recent enough.

For those of you who have done a Level 1 Field Trip, good for you! But realize that if you want to work towards becoming a trip leader, then taking a Level 1 Field Trip is a great way to start the season. Gain more experience with a professional. Every snowpack is different. Every winter tour is different.

Includes:

Guided field trip.

Level 1 Certification (certificate included).
