NEW Ridge Explorations Tree Well Rescue Strap - $12.95

NARSID (Non-Avalanche Related Snow Immersion Death)

Most of the documented cases of deep snow suffocation at ski areas involve people falling headfirst into a tree well.

The Ridge Explorations Tree Well Rescue Strap is a long loop of webbing that a skier can deploy to help a partner who has fallen into a tree well. The strap is conveniently carried in a pocket or Velcro attached to the transceiver harness. It is a simple process to unwrap it and toss one end of the strap to the fallen skier. The rescuer can then assist extrication with a pull on the strap from the safety of a solid stance away from the tree well. Tree well rescue straps are carried by prominent Canadian ski guides.

Ridge Explorations Tree Well Rescue Straps are available at retail stores such as  Feathered Friends (Seattle), Wapiti Woolies (Greenwater) or can be purchased online via PayPal (Below).
